We're making snow! Vysočina Arena shines white
Freezing weather has been gripping the Czech Republic since Sunday. We are making the most of it for the snowmaking of Vysočina Arena with technical snow. The priority is the stadium, the reservoir and of course the tracks themselves. The World Championships are coming up, the first official trainings are scheduled for February 5.
"Currently there are 12 snow cannons in action, six people who take turns in shifts to operate the cannons and equipment," says Tomáš Procházka, the head of snowmaking. "We expect to be making snow until the end of the week. After that, we'll start spreading the newly made snow and proper grooming."
The final tracks will be 7-8 metres wide, 6 metres in the downhills. Interestingly, the longest 4 km loop will lead through the snow depo.
