Vratislavovo Square in Nové Město na Moravě will come to life at 18:30 with the performance Běžkařská odysea by Bratři v tricku

The 54th IBU BMW Biathlon World Championships officially kick off at 19:00 with the raising of the flag and the anthem of the International Biathlon Union.

Opening show is prepared by the International Festival of New Circus and Theatre Letní Letná in cooperation with Losers Cirque Company, AirGym Art Company, and other guests.

The show titled “Biathlon in the Sky” promises incredible acrobatic performances on the ground, on trampolines, and in the air at heights. Acrobats will occupy the entire square of Nové Město na Moravě and showcase the best of the new circus phenomenon.

The choreography will be inspired by biathlon in all its forms, from the start of the race to the finish. The parade of flags of all participating countries will not be missing, although in a rather unexpected way.

The opening show will be hosted by Ondřej “Endru” Havlík, well known to biathlon fans, who will then be succeeded on stage by Ewa Farna.

Following the one-hour concert of the most popular Czech singer of today, other stars of the Czech music scene will perform throughout the championships.

Former skier and big biathlon fan Anna K won't miss the World Championships, having performed in Nové Město also in 2013. Similarly, Vojta Dyk will return alongside Jakub Prachař and Jan Maxián in the group Tros Discotequos.

And one more comeback. As part of the Nové Město na Moravě Day on Thursday, February 8, the legendary band Buty will perform.
