How to Get to the Biathlon World Cup Comfortably

The Biathlon World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě attracts thousands of fans from the Czech Republic and abroad to the Vysočina Arena every year. To make getting to the event as smooth and comfortable as possible, and to ensure traffic around the venue flows efficiently, the organizers have put special transportation measures in place during the competition days. Below you’ll find an overview of the most important information—whether you’re planning to arrive by car, public transport, coach, or motorhome.

Arriving by Car and Parking

Parking directly at the Vysočina Arena is not available during the competition days. For passenger cars, Park-and-Ride lots are available in Žďár nad Sázavou, the surrounding villages of Nová Ves and Jiříkovice, and along road I/19. From these parking areas, fans can conveniently reach the arena using the free shuttle bus service provided by the organizers.

On the day of your arrival, we recommend checking the current occupancy map of the parking lots, which can help you choose the best route.

Parking capacity is limited, and especially during peak times, lots can fill up quickly. We therefore recommend arriving early and parking only in the designated areas. Vehicles parked outside the marked zones may be towed for safety reasons. All parking areas must be cleared by 10:00 PM.

Shuttle Bus Service to the Arena

The free shuttle bus service operates throughout all competition days and connects the main parking areas as well as selected villages with the Vysočina Arena. The buses run at regular intervals and provide a comfortable transfer for fanswithout the need to worry about parking near the venue.

The shuttle operates at the following times:

  • Thursday, January 22: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday, January 23: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday, January 24: 9:30 AM – 12:15 PM
  • Sunday, January 25: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The routes cover Žďár nad Sázavou, Nová Ves, the parking lot along road I/19, and the Tří Studně area, bringing fans directly to the arena from Nové Město na Moravě.

Public Transport

If you want to make your journey as simple as possible, we recommend taking the train or local bus to Žďár nad Sázavou. A shuttle bus stop is located directly in front of the station, providing a convenient transfer to the Vysočina Arena.

Shuttle buses run regularly throughout the competition days, generally every 10 minutes, ensuring you reach the arena quickly and without unnecessary waiting.

Coaches and Organized Groups

Parking inside the MEDIN area is not available for coaches. For organized groups, parking areas are reserved at the JCZ site in Maršovice and on Nezvalova Street near the Nové Město na Moravě train station. From these locations, fans can either walk to the Vysočina Arena or use the shuttle bus service.

Motorhomes and Caravans

Fans traveling by motorhome or caravan have access to a dedicated parking area in Maršovice. This parking lot is exclusively for these types of vehicles and advance reservation is required. We recommend booking your space early to ensure a smooth and comfortable arrival at the event.
